Snow Day!

Well today was the first snow day of the year. Caleb and Corbin had fun playing outside while I shoveled the driveway. Carson was sound asleep in his bed. They might get another snow day tomorrow...the snow seems to be picking up.

Cobin likes to help me shovel.

Thanksgiving with Friends

Well this was our second Thanksgiving spent away from family. We were very lucky to have spent it with our friends John and Christina, who are from the south, so you know the food was good! We had a great time visiting while the kids played. I think they had a good time as well. There was another family there with their three kids, so there were six adults and nine kids. Needless to say, it got loud at times. Here are a few pictures from the evening.

Family Session

Today Matt is doing a family portrait fundraiser for our adoption. Last night we went to the studio and got some shots of us. Here are a few from our session.

Carving Pumpkins

The boys always love the idea of carving pumpkins but don't really like getting dirty. This means Matt and I do most of the dirty work and the carving. Carson had a good time pulling out the seeds and eating a little in the process. At one point he spit everything out of his mouth back into the pumpkin. Corbin gave his pumpkin freckles by stabbing it over and over with a little tool. It was a great day. Fun was had by all.

Halloween

Say hello to my three Transformers...Megatron, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. I think we picked the most popular costumes this year. There were about ten other Bumblebees running through the neighborhood. We're lucky we actually came back home with the right one. Carson did great for about five houses and then he was done. I'm sure he will enjoy it a lot more next year.

Elliana Grace

What a blessing to have this beautiful baby girl as part of our family! Carson and I were lucky enough to go visit Amy and Toby and their wonderful little girl. Carson wasn't too sure what to think of her at first. He definitely didn't want me holding her. After a while, he decided she was ok. We are so thankful that God has blessed Amy and Toby with Ellie. They are already great parents! We love you!

Carson is helping Amy put together somes shelves for Ellie's room.

After this picture, Carson decided he was done having Ellie on his lap so he rolled her off his legs.

Football

This was Caleb's first year to play football on a team. He really enjoyed it, although I don't think he was that into it. His team is in the championship game tomorrow...the Super Bowl of flag football! Matt was able to get some really good pictures of him and his team in action. Here's just a few.

I really have no idea how Matt got so many pictures of him running. When the season first started this was what he did most of the time. The last few games he has played very well. We'll let you know how the team does tomorrow. Go Patriots!

First Day of School

The boys were very excited about the first day of school.  They had a hard time going to sleep the night before and were up early.  Caleb had no problem going right into his class and getting settled.  Corbin, on the other hand, had to be persuaded to go into his classroom and wanted nothing to do with the camera.  Matt and I got a little emotional because we could sense his fear.  I think he did fine the rest of the day but I'm a little nervous about tomorrow since we can't take him to his class.  I'm hoping that Caleb will be an encouraging big brother and help him get to his class.  Caleb had a great day!  He actually said, "I didn't know 2nd grade was going to be so much fun!"  I think Carson missed his big brothers.

Memorial Day Run

No sleeping in on this holiday.  Boys Town has a Memorial Day run every year and we decided to sign the boys up to do the 1 mile kids fun run.  We had to be there at 7:30 am.  They were very excited even though neither one of them is a runner.  Matt ran with them and Carson and I cheered them on.  Next year Matt wants to do the five mile run.  I would like to as well but the chances of that are pretty slim.  The boys started out running, then walked most of the way, then finished strong with a sprint to the finish line.  It was a lot of fun!

Carson's 1st Haircut

Carson did a great job for his first haircut today!  He doesn't have a lot of hair so it only took about three minutes.  He's looking less like a baby and more like a little boy everyday.

Slugger

Corbin was so excited for his first baseball game.  He woke up on Wednesday morning and asked if he was going to play baseball.  He talked about it all day!  He played great!  In coach pitch, everyone gets to hit every inning.  They get six pitches and if they don't hit the ball then they hit off of a T.  Corbin hit the ball every time he batted with the coach pitching to him.  He had a great first game!

Look, there goes the ball...
